We've taken to roosting on our favorite bench most evenings, watching the sunset over the New Jersey Palisades across the Hudson River. At the moment, Gary is finding it hard to walk more than a couple of blocks. Thus we couldn't be luckier to live across from this lush urban park.
Yesterday, good friend JOYCE delivered a Starbucks grande right to our bench - thanks Joycie! That capped a day of happy news from the hospital: blood counts improved so no transfusions needed!
Today (Tuesday), Gary had no medical appointments at all! Just stayed home + evening walk to said bench.
Glad you made it over there to watch the sunset! And excellent newd about the blood counts. So good that Gary can have a dsy off from transfusions,
ReplyDeleteThe farmsitter is coming tonight to go over things. Can't believe we'll be there Friday. You'll have to give me your Starbucks order!

Can't wait for a taste of your bees' delicious produce!
DeleteI have over 250 lbs in buckets waiting to bottled, plus probably that much again on the hives, and I've already taken off that much! So maybe an 800-lb honey season. :)
DeleteTomorrow! We'lll give you a call when we get in.
You sound so wonderful in these blog posts, Brian. It makes me want to give you a big hug and smile. I'd love to visit at your bench, and share Starbucks orders together. Maybe I can when the kids go back to school. Yeah!!!! Sending love and smiles.

Starbucks is *always* welcome Joanie!
DeleteI am happy to hear of more bench time in Riverside park. I can imagine the scene, that remarkable feeling of cultivated Nature at the edge of your great metropolis.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you both while in Yosemite recently. A particularly choice viewpoint in the high country, looking into the Valley is dedicated to Olmstead. That man got around! Apparently he played an influential role in setting land use policy in Yosemite park.
Wishing you more good bench time..
Henry
Thanks for the California visualization, Henry!
