Todays Chemo Went Fine. And Photos of Afshin's visit

Delighted to report that, today, Gary received the other two drugs in his current three-drug combination. All went very well.  These two drugs (Rituxan and Doxil) are administered by intravenous drip over the course of about four hours.  There is always a risk of an allergic reaction when receiving any new medications, but all went just fine, today.  

For the most part, during the actual drip, Gary enjoyed a multi-hour snooze in the comfy recliner chairs that Dr. O'Connor's Midtown Manhattan office provides.  The location is directly across from Rockefeller Center, so it's very stimulating to go down there, especially as the pre-Christmas frenzy there builds!

The only disadvantage to Gary's nap, today, was that he missed a special visit from our friend, Hanson, from Seattle!  I've known Hanson for nearly a quarter century, as my law school roommate.   Hanson snapped a selfie of him and me (to follow), as Gary was sleeping.

Herewith are photos of another esteemed visitor, but from last week.   (And yes, I still have a backlog of others to upload... sorry!)

Gary's work colleague and friend of very long standing, Afshin, visited us last week during Gary's platelets transfusion at the hospital. 

  Afshin is an accomplished musician, making and playing his own Persian instruments, especially the setar (meaning 3-stringed) and the ney (a Persian flute).
